DE Driving in Germany
A licence from outside the EU is valid for six months after you register your address. Whether you then need driving tests depends on the country that issued it.
UK Driving in the UK
You can drive on your licence for 12 months after becoming resident in Great Britain. Licences from a list of designated countries can then be exchanged without a test; all others need the theory and practical test.
AU Driving in Australia
Each state and territory sets its own licence rules, and the time limits and country lists differ. Check the rule for the state where you will live.
US Driving in the USA
Each state sets its own rules for drivers from other countries. In most cases you will apply for a licence in the state where you live – look up that state's motor vehicle agency first.
CA Driving in Canada
Driver licensing belongs to the provinces. Each one has its own grace period and its own list of countries whose licences it exchanges without a test.
