Work as a midwife in the USA

There is no direct recognition for midwives educated abroad. To become a Certified Nurse-Midwife or Certified Midwife you need a graduate degree from a US programme accredited by ACME, then the AMCB exam and a state licence. A separate credential, the Certified Professional Midwife, is open through a portfolio route but recognised only in some states.
