Nurse salary in Germany

Occupation: Health and nursing care occupations (no specialisation) – skilled tasks [Berufe in der Gesundheits- & Krankenpflege (ohne Spezialisierung) - fachlich ausgerichtete Tätigkeiten] (KldB 2010 81302). Registered nurses (Pflegefachfrau/-mann, Gesundheits- und (Kinder-)Krankenpfleger/in); geriatric care (Altenpflege) is a separate code. The TVöD-P table applies to nurses employed by municipal hospitals and care homes; private and church employers pay under their own agreements. Full-time employees subject to social insurance (core group) on 31 December 2025, before tax and social contributions; civil servants and the self-employed are not included. Employers report pay only up to the pension contribution ceiling of 8,050 € a month, so figures above it are not published; nor are figures for fewer than 500 employees.
