Covers doctors the BA files under KldB 8140: Arzt/Ärztin, Assistenzarzt/-ärztin (doctors in specialty training) and general practitioners (Facharzt Allgemeinmedizin); other specialists have their own codes. The upper quartile lies above the contribution ceiling of 8,050 € a month nationally and in most Länder, so the BA does not publish it there. The TV-Ärzte/VKA table is for a 40-hour week at municipal hospitals; on-call duty and allowances come on top. Full-time employees subject to social insurance (core group) on 31 December 2025, before tax and social contributions; civil servants and the self-employed are not included. Employers report pay only up to the pension contribution ceiling of 8,050 € a month, so figures above it are not published; nor are figures for fewer than 500 employees.
