Midwife salary in Germany

Employed midwives only (mostly in hospitals); freelance midwives are not in the statistics. States with too few full-time employees in the job are not published. Full-time employees subject to social insurance (core group) on 31 December 2025, before tax and social contributions; civil servants and the self-employed are not included. Employers report pay only up to the pension contribution ceiling of 8,050 € a month, so figures above it are not published; nor are figures for fewer than 500 employees.
